The 8 Step Exercise Program has been developed by UKTQF Founder Raymond Towers as a structured approach to whole body and mind conditioning for all those interested in their mental and physical health, well being, and performance.

The 8 Step Exercise Program consists of eight sets, each set having eight specific exercises with a given emphasis.
ORIGINAL - REGENERATING (Tissues)
SILK WEAVING - RESILIENCE (Joints)
DAOYIN - REVITALISE (Nervous System)
KICKING - CARDIOVASCULAR /BALANCE
SEATED DAOYIN - PROTECT ING (immune system)
BIG ROCK - DETOX (Organs)
IRON BODY - CONFIDENCE (Muscular/skeletal)
STANDING - CLARITY AND PURPOSE (Spirit

The integrity of this program is found in its historical connection to the rich source of health and well-being practice in the culture of the Traditional Chinese Health and Longevity arts.

The 8 Step Exercise Program is a simple, accessible yet powerful exercise system that you can take away with you and integrate in to your daily routine with confidence. Practiced together, the 8 steps offer a holistic approach to exercise and health.

Who will benefit?

The 8 step system is practiced by people form many walks of life. It has been developed to give people an exercise system that does it all: strength, flexibility, loose and pain free joints, healthy immune and digestive system, great balance and mental clarity. However, it has proven especially effective for both the serious and recreational athlete, as a means of performance enhancement and injury prevention. The program allows a natural development and is therefore suitable for all ages and abilities.

How is it performed?

From the outside the movements appear as a blend between Taiji and Yoga, and are normally (but not always) practiced slowly. There are meditative aspects to some of the sets, and many are designed to facilitate improved breathing. Practice also includes working with a partner in order to better understand the exercises. Many of the sets can be performed whilst sitting down.

Case Studies

Rebecca (age 15) - “I have practiced since I was seven years old. I love the movement, and have gained enormously in strength, balance and confidence.”

Matthew (age 33) - “Before I studied the arts I had little exercise in my life. Now as an enthusiastic practitioner and teacher, not only has it made me fitter and stronger than I could ever have imagined, I am more energized than I have ever experienced.”

Susan (age 52) -“Having had a hip replacement, practice of these exercises has greatly assisted my rehabilitation (I was told I recovered in record breaking time by my doctor), and I now teach with the knowledge of how such a program can help in times of adversity.”

Claire (age 52) - "I always use to catch colds and get viruses, since practicing these exercises I have been much better. It is so good for keeping the joints supple and the body and mind healthy. I could not survive without it."

Margaret (age 63) - “I have found the relaxation and breathing techniques learned during my practice of the 8 steps very useful in coping with life's challenges and stressful situations especially during recovery from recent surgery.. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to improve their overall emotional and physical health.”

Chris (32) "I enjoy the relaxing smooth rhythmic movements, and I love
feeling stronger, more focused and bouncing with energy'
“By using our intent and moving through the body’s natural structure,
it is possible to improve our strength, health and vital”
